Music

As well as been an avid music fan and concert goer, Alfred Hermida has been producing music for over two decades. His UXB track, Echo, was regularly heard by listeners of the BBC World Service as it was the theme tune for the show, Go Digital, from 2001 to 2005. The show updated the theme song in 2005. His UXB track, Hardcore, was featured in the Hot Clubbing 2 dance compilation released in 2002.

Hermida is a prolific music producer, exploring the intersection of technology and human creation, releasing music including shoegaze/dreampop, darkwave, metal and electronic dance.

In 2024, he started In The Afterglow, pioneering the use of AI in to produce shoegaze and dream pop. As one of the first artists to fully integrate AI into the creative process, Hermida harnesses AI tools to craft atmospheric compositions seamlessly blending human emotion with machine intelligence. The result is groundbreaking: a sound honouring shoegaze traditions while pushing its boundaries through innovative AI collaboration, creating deeply resonant, introspective music that bridges past and future.

He continued his pioneering work in combining human creativity and AI with the launch of Sirenglas in 2025. Sirenglas is an AI-human hybrid spectral entity dwelling in darkwave’s fractured frequencies emanating from Vancouver, Canada. Merging analog melancholy with digital precision, its music pulses with decaying vitality—jagged synths, ghostly choirs, and cold rhythms mirroring humanity’s unshackled shadow.

His recent music work builds on more than two decades of producing electronic dance music under the name, UXB. The tracks range from happy house to deep techno to ambient beats.

In 2022 he started creating metal music under the name, Void Vanguard. You can find Void Vanguard merch on Redbubble.

You can find his music on all major music streaming services.
